i was run-ning!!

2 years ago i decided i wanted to start running. i belonged to a gym and found this great program on how to start. (duh you would think you just run, right?) it's an 8 week schedule that by the end of the 8 weeks you will be running 3 miles or 30 minutes straight. it was one of the hardest things i had ever done. i would get so excited after every run. yipee i had run 3 minutes without stopping. then hurray! i had run 5 minutes straight. until i did it. i ran 3 miles!! i was beside myself. i told everyone and just felt great. then i quit. just like that. no reason. just didn't want to do it anymore. it is hard you know!

well, my mom-in-law gave me her treadmill right after Christmas this year. and i started again. i'm now on my 3rd week. i'm so excited!! i just feel so powerful running. it's hard. and i'm much more out of shape then i was then. but i'm going to do it!! some day's (like yesterday!) i have to force myself to get up there and run. but i feel so good when i have finished.

keep me honest and ask often if i'm still on track.

WOOOHOOO!!!!! i'm so proud of you! i remember when you did this at the gym and you'd call on your way home and tell me how well you did. feel free to do that again, and i'll keep you honest. :)

i stopped doing the treadmill bc it was soooooo boring. now i'm totally addicted to the stairclimber. i wish it gave steps in miles so we could compare. but it makes me sweat like mad and suck wind, so i guess it's doing the trick.

glad you're liking the treadmill!!

Congrats, that's great! The only time I run is when the building is on fire.

Could you run an extra mile for me?

Good for you!! I think I'll try out your program...once upon a time I could do 30 minutes with my eyes closed and now and I wheeze with a vengence. Sigh. Maybe you've inspired me!!

Good on you!

I'd start running, but it would really cut into my time on the couchmaster. There are only so many hours in the day.

I was running on our treadmill once doing this 30 second run thing where put the treadmill on speed 5 for 30 seconds and then the highest speed 10 for 30 seconds and alternate that for 6 minutes, then add a minute everyday until I reached 15 minutes. But the one day I was doing it I was on speed 10 and my legs were giving out and I went to pull the emergency cord and i missed and my legs took off the belt and i landed on my hand and got serious treadmill burn.

So, don't fall because it hurts.

Oh, that's great, Kay. I am so, so, so proud of you for starting a good exercise program. I have never tried running, but I love to go to the mall with my friend and walk.

I tagged you today. I hope you don't mind. It is a fun thing to do, or so I think. I hope you will visit my site and take a look.

I whined to husband for literally 10 years to get a treadmill. I NEEDED it! I HAD to have it! I finally got one about a year ago, and I've run on it twice.

The shame.

You are soo good! I tried that, but I really loathe running. I mean, REALLY loathe it. But it is so efficient! Maybe I will try again :)
