and now back to me

#62. i have 11 piercings. one ear has 3 one ear has 7 and 1 in my nose. all but the first 2 of each ear i did myself. including the nose. with a safety pin. all i can say is ouch!

#61. i have 2 tattoos. flowers around my ankle and a flower on my shoulder. and please note that i have had these for almost 20 years. so i did it before it became cool. because i am the starter of all things cool. just so you know.

#60. i only paint my toe nails in the summer time. and only green. yes green. to match my eyes. (because they are so close together)
#59. i only wear birkenstocks. i have 2 pair. one boston (clogs) for winter and one arizona (sandals) for hot weather. i do wear new balance when i work out. and i do have a pair of boots that i wore about 4 times last winter. but that's it. and the clogs were actually blue when i bought them. i love shoes i just like to be comfortable. (note the tan lines on my feet from my shoes. i always think it's dirt but it's not!)

#58. i love the playstation. i have all of the crash bandicoot and spyro the dragon games and i have beat them all. big c's friends think i am so cool because i play video games. and i'm good too!

#57. i can go weeks without shaving my legs and you can't tell. i don't know if it's because the hair is so light or if i just don't have a lot of it. either way i'm happy about it!

#56. my sister and i have the same handwriting. it's almost identical. it very weird to see something i wrote and think she did and vise versa.

#55. i had lasix surgery 3 years ago. if you wear contacts you should take them out and run to the nearest optometrist. it's the best thing i have ever done for myself.

#54. 3 years ago i started selling things on ebay. in one year i made over $8,000! i know!! my husband asked me to stop selling all of our stuff. so now i only do it when the kids outgrow something. (i wrote a tutorial. if you would like to have a copy let me know)

#53. i used to write on the walls and blame it on ditto down the street. that never worked out well for me.

#52 my mom used to spank us with a wooden hairbush. she still has it. it hurt like hell. can't use a wooden hairbrush to this day.

#51. i love the spice girls. i saw them in concert 9 or so years ago. i have call of their cd's, a concert shirt, dolls, buttons, etc. (i have actually posted about this before but it was not labeled under 100 things so i get to use it again)

#50. i was a huge i mean HUGE Duran Duran fan in jr. high/high school. i was totally ocd about them. ask me anything about them. some friends invited my sis and i to go see them in chapel hill but sis was getting her braces on that day so my mom said no. and i never let her forget it. but i did finally get to see them last year. and boy they were still cute. (except andy)

Chicken Jam!!

well, we made it! and this is what we did...

drove 32 hours - left wednesday and drove 6 hours. stopped at a Holiday Inn Express with the worlds largest bathtub. it was AWESOME!! had whirlpool jets and everything. we all took a swim in it! got up thursday and drove 10 hours. left sunday and drove 6 hours then got up monday morning and drove 10 more hours home. i have to tell you that my 11 year old is the most perfect kid. say what you will about yours but mine really is. not a peep out of him about being tired, bored or when will be there. he helped with the little one and just made the whole trip easy. on the other hand. there was monkey. he really wasn't too bad. just hard for an active 4 year old to be in the car for that long. thank the Lord for Toy Story.

ate - thursday night when we got there we hung out for a while then piled back in the car to go to RED HOOK!! we love that place. actually angela had to pick up the keg for the party so we just decided to stay and eat dinner. my kids were really tired but they hung in there like troopers. mikey had to go #2 while we were there and they have those toilets that automatically flush. I HATE THOSE THINGS!! and it scared him so bad he could not go. great. now i have a stopped up/tired kid. we got back to the house put everyone to bed and sat on the new deck and talked for a while. angela had to get up to take the kids to school the next morning so we were in bed early.

shopped - friday morning i got to sleep in!! well 8:30 but that's way better than 6:45! got up, had some breakfast and noticed there were several men outside. they were setting up for the party. one of rand's friends, steve has a bucket truck and they were hanging up lights and the disco ball. they looked like they were having a blast! so angela and i got ready and headed off to sam's. first we had to go to the liquor store. holy cow. new hampshire must be the most liquored state in the country. after dropping 100 bucks there we hit sam's. let me explain about this Chicken Jam thing. 8 years ago angela and rand's friend chris had the idea to have his friends band, Big Chicken, come to angela and rand's house for a small party. there was music and food and about 35 people. now it's a HUGE event in the small town of Deerfield. angela and rand, being the super generous people that they are, invite almost everyone they know and they feed them!! and provide the alcohol and 2 port-a-johns. so that's is why the sam's bill was almost $300. everyone is supposed to bring something to share. and they did. but still. after the keg, the liquor, the food and the port-a-john's, (not to mention the electric bill) this party must set them back about $1000!!

worked - after shopping it was cleaning time. the goal was to not let anyone in the house during the party. (of course we were exempt as we were actually staying there). but there was lots to do outside. i cleaned the party porch. and cleaned chairs. and helped set up tables. and cleaned off the bar. and put supplies in the port-a-john. and more stuff i can't remember. there were several other families there after school let out. thank goodness they were there to help. and some of them had daughters who loved monkey! that was huge! i almost brought 2 of them home with me, they were such a help. that night we got pizza and turned on the disco ball! wow it was so cool. the kids went inside and the adults hung out on the party porch and talked. ah my favorite place.

partied! - saturday was the party. we got up and got back to work. putting out table cloths, prepping the bar, setting up tents, laying out the food. people starting showing up about 2:00 and they kept coming. we figured there were 450 to 500 people there. it was INSANE!!! this thing is so big they sell shirts and hats and thongs! and there were kids everywhere. they have a huge piece of property and they cars were in the back and the kids were on the sides of the house. they ran and ate and made a huge mess of everything. i walked around to the side at one point and someone had given the kids (middle school to high school age) a huge bucket of ice cream and they had poured it all over the glass table. ??? i hate kids that have no respect for others stuff. anyway the party was awesome. the music was great, tons of food and no lack of people to talk to. there were all ages represented too. a 2 week old (what was she thinking!) to an 80 year old! there were 3 bands that played until 9:30 then went unplugged. (this due to the cops coming last year) we danced and danced. my feet were so gross from dancing in the grass with no shoes. then i went to bed. i was so tired. and i knew mikey would be up early. lots of people brought tents or campers and slept in the back. not me.

recovered - got up and started the coffee. peggy was up cleaning and brough some doughnuts and muffins. people started wandering in and having coffee. then we sent the kids (who were sleeping all over the house) outside with garbage bags to pick up the trash. what a mess. but we got it done. put the tents up, put away the tables and then some of the guys got the bloody mary's going. puke. sorry but i can't do that. anyway they families that stayed the night helped clean up too. and they were great!! really nice people. about noon they lit up the grills and cooked some burgers. we packed up the car and got ready to leave. huge sendoff! there were like 25 people to hug. what a great time. but really too short. and i didn't get to spend as much time with angela as i would have liked but this was better than nothing huh?

***************************************************************************************

i have to add that angela and i have know each other for 20 years. she used to live in charlotte and i was her pharmacy tech. we were really good friends when she lived here then she married rand and moved to NH. we try to see each other at least once a year. her oldest, will, is the reason we decided to get pregnant. and jessie is 6 weeks older than Big C. don't they all look alike? jessie was telling all of her friends that i was her aunt. they are they closest things to cousins that my kids have. i ♥ the beans!!

**************************************************************************************

and another thing. when ever we travel we always check out license plates. this trip we found 43 different states!! not including Quebec and Ontario. we were stoked!

pix for julie

it's the itsy bitsy spider and a zombie or something...

(i should have said they were from 2 years ago. just posting the pix for julie to see the spider costume)

need advice

i have this great friend cathy. i love her dearly. she is one of my best friends. and has been for a long time. we have great conversations, love lots of the same things and she is always there for me. (and i hope i am for her) but i have a problem. her husband tim is the leader of the band that i have been in for 3 years. tim and i had a fight a few months ago and it was pretty ugly. but we kissed and made up and now i'm back in the band. and i think cathy is upset about it. i don't know if she is mad at me for going back or at tim for letting me back in. and really it was kinda done behind her back. because i didn't want her to get mad about it.

see she is good. i mean really good. and not like look at me i'm better than you good. just good. and she encourages me to be a better person just because she is so good. and i don't want her to be upset with me. but i love being in this band. not just because i get to sing but because i feel like this is what God wants me to do. it's hard sometimes because i have 2 kids and have to get sitters and i get stressed about that occasionally. and she knows that. so what do i do. do i talk to her about it? or just pretend like i don't think she is mad at me? lest said soon mended and all that?

any ideas?

i don't want to lose her a friend but i don't want to step out of the band either.

*sigh*

World's Shortest Fairy Tale

World's Shortest Fairytale

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl, "Will you marry me?"

The girl said "No" and she lived happily ever after and went shopping,
Drank margaritas with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook,
had a closet full of shoes and handbags, stayed skinny, and was never farted on.
The End

(thanks sis!)

busy weekend

this weekend was the car show/concert at Trinity. it was soooo hot!!! got a little sun but not burnt. Big C and blake ran around and play and looked at all of the cars. and Big C took these pix.

so tim and i have talked and he wants me (and i want to) be back in the band. so i sang this weekend. boy have i missed that. it was so much fun!! but poor amanda. the girl just can't sing. so it was kinda hard to sing with her. i will be at practice this week and we will see what happens. i know tim wants me back because i really can sing. that makes me feel great!!

so we played for several hours and probably sweated off several pounds in the process!! then i took cathy and the boys home and picked up monkey who was at the clousers. (thanks!!) went home and just layed on the couch b/c i was soo tired!! DH got home and we got a movie and a pizza. Wild Hogs. it was funny. and DH really liked it.

sunday up early for church. todd was preaching on sex. uh can you saw awkward? it was super quite in there. anyway it was really good and of course the music was awesome. the panthers game was on at 1 and they rocked!! not only did they win but they played really really well. went to pick up big c at the trews and watched the end of the game with them. watched more football, made fish tacos and then watched britney bomb on the MTV awards. poor thing. what a mess.

i decided i would keep the computer off this weekend. no checking emails or blogs. it was hard!! i wanted to see what everyone had posted but i kept it off until this morning. i think i'm going to do that more often. makes me do other things and spend more time with the fam!

oh and big c is taking spanish and i am so proud of him. he is really doing well. and i'm learning some stuff too. i loved spanish in high school and it's all coming back to me.

more about me!!

#67 my first concert was Eddie Rabbit. I Love a Rainy Night. yep. carowinds with my mom, sis, mrs. hill and ditto. and we were in the front row. actually it was really fun. he had some great songs.

#66 i was attacked by a doberman pincher when i was about 10 or 11. i was walking across the street to ditto's house and it ran out of someone's front door right at me. i was so scared i just stood there and screamed. and i can scream. it jumped up on me but never bit me. maybe just a few scratches. and then i was rescued. so i guess i was not attacked but just barked at and jumped on! but it was still scary!

#65 i slept in line 16 hours for INXS tickets. it was so much fun!! i went with my BFF tia and we met a lot of really cool people out there. we were 2nd in line so we got really great seats. i loved them before michael died. i even had a personalized license plate with RED SUN on it. (can you find the reference?) and i saw them 4 times in concert.

#64 i almost got beat up by skinheads once. my friend thomas and i went to see Suicidal Tendencies at the Park Elevator. we were sitting in the parking lot waiting for tia and these HUGE skinheads approached us. thomas was wearing these really expensive knee-length Doc Martin boots and they wanted them. i was just an innocent bystander but they still gave me a hard time. i was so freaked out. i just knew i was going to get my butt kicked. so thomas takes off running across the parking lot and leaves me there. thanks friend! but thank goodness tia showed up and scared them all away. she knew everyone and everyone liked her. phew!

#63 i have seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show over 30 times. now i know that is not a lot for some people but i didn't have a car in high-school and i had to depend on others to get me there. and i can still do the Time Warp!!!

friends quiz anyone?

Which Friends Character Are You?

You are Monica. You have a go-all-out nature. Your friends better watch out, because you play to win. Also, when it comes to order and cleanliness, you're a bit obsessive compulsive. Your best trait, however, is your thoughtfulness. You go to great lengths to care for your friends.
Find Your Character @ BrainFall.com

i can't believe i'm monica. i really thought i would be a phoebe!! huh.
