do you love getting ready for Christmas? i love the music, the decorations, the shopping, the food, the parties and making lists for all of that stuff. do you think it's too early to shop and listen to Christmas music? i already have my Christmas playlist ready to post on my blog but i didn't want anyone to think i was a freak for having it up yet! :) i do some shopping through out the year but save most of it for day after thanksgiving (holla crazymomma!) and December. i love the hustle and bustle.
i always wrap all of my gifts in front of my favorite Christmas movies. i have tons of them! charlie brown, rudolph, santa clause is coming to town, heide (yes that's a Christmas movie!), home alone, little drummer boy, a Christmas story etc.
and we get out the Jesse tree. It is a vehicle to tell the Story of God in the Old Testament, and to connect the Advent Season with the faithfulness of God across 4,000 years of history.
so what about you? do you love the holidays? do you dread them? what about the music? are you ready to hear it on my blog yet? well hold on because it's coming later this week!!!

We were so separated at birth! But because the time is so special, I don't want too much of it. You know, like if your birthday was every day, it would just be another day. My rule is 'No Christmas until after Thanksgiving'. Then, saturation.
BTW - That's why I love that Thanksgiving is early this year.
The thing I love about Christmas is pretty much the same as your's, Kay. I especially love the Christmas music and the Christmas movies. I also like shopping this time of year. The stores always have a lot of different things that you can't find any other time of year. I used to love wrapping presents and doing lots of baking when I was younger and the kids were small. Now I'm just content to be at someone else's home for Christmas dinner. Still love all the different foods that are around for sampling.
Crystal's post was about the same thing and the more I read about Christmas the more I get excited. Squeeeee!
My favorite things about Christmas are the music and the feeling. Just that overall everyone is good feeling (even if it's not necessarily true). I love giving presents. I love finding just the right thing for someone.
Okay, I just love the whole season.
I love it all! Baking, decorating, lights, music, gifts, shopping, ALL of IT! We start celebrating early - our family Christmas party is on Thanksgiving weekend and the excitement builds from there!
My favorite time of the year. Are you kidding? I was planning for Christmas months ago.
ighAt our house we travel the wisemen from our nativity around the house till they are placed in the scene on Christmas morning...it is always a fight as to who's turn it is to take the wisemen walking.
We also only give our girls three gifts--they are nice big gifts, but only three. We say if three was good enough for Jesus it is good enough for you. You know as teens in a world of so much greed it made our girls think and choose there wants wisely and put greed into perspective.
The thing that warms my heart the most at this time of year is baking cookies with my girls while my husband stands there drouling till we give him the green light on eating.
