I thought you were going to read 'Lucifer's Hammer'. It's the best end of the world si fi you will ever find.

Sorry I can't help you. I don't like to read. Wish I did.

Frankenstein, Count of Monte Cristo, I LOVED My Antonia by Willa Cather - I rebelled when it was suggested at book group, but when I read it I was captured and couldn't put it down. Another really good one was Adam Bede by George Eliot. Have you read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn? The Education of Little Tree was great! Read Where the Red Fern Grows to your boys! My boys loved The Watson's Go to Birmingham, although it isn't a classic yet. Another of my favorites is The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. another favorite (though not exactly a classic) is The Time Travelers Wife. I just started Zorro by Isabelle Allende - she's an amazing author, everything that I've read from her is fabulous. Also loved These is my Words and it's sequel. Barbara Kingsolver is good, but I couldn't get through The Poisonwood Bible to save my life. (Tangent, what tangent?)
